Atreff Terms of Use
Effective date: 24 September 2026
Replaces the version effective 13 September 2026.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Atreff, including the website at atreff.com and the services available through it (the "Service").
Atreff is operated by Klarsted FZC LLC, a free zone limited liability company licensed by Sharjah Publishing City – Free Zone Authority (licence no. 4432092.01), Business Centre, Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates ("Atreff", "we", "us" or "our").
Accepting these Terms. When you create an Atreff account, we ask you to confirm that you are 18 or over and to accept these Terms by ticking a box. If you use Atreff without an account, for example to view a group or event from a shared link, these Terms also apply to that use.
These Terms are available in Arabic and English. If there is any inconsistency between the two versions, the Arabic version prevails.
1. What Atreff is
Atreff is a sign-up tool for groups and events. Organisers create groups and events and share links to them. Participants use those links to see events and to join them, leave them, or join a waitlist.
Atreff provides the technology for managing sign-ups. Atreff does not organise, host, run or supervise the events listed on it, and is not a party to arrangements between organisers and participants unless we expressly say so.
Each event is the responsibility of its organiser, together with any venue or other provider involved. Atreff does not check events, organisers, venues or participants. So Atreff cannot confirm that an event will take place, that its information is accurate, that it is safe or suitable for you, or that the people signed up will attend.
2. Who can use Atreff
You must be 18 or over to create an account or use Atreff, and you must be legally able to accept these Terms.
Everyone listed for an event must be 18 or over. This includes people an organiser adds by name.
3. Your account and signing in
Atreff does not use passwords. You sign in with a one-time code that we send to your email address.
You are responsible for:
- using an email address that you are entitled to use;
- keeping control of your email account, because anyone who can read your email may be able to sign in to your Atreff account;
- not sharing your sign-in codes with anyone; and
- telling us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.
Please use your real name or the name your group knows you by, and keep it up to date.
4. Group and event links
Anyone with a link to a group or event can view it without signing in. Without signing in, they see the event details and the number of people going, but not participants' names. Anyone with the link who signs in can see who is going and who is on the waitlist.
Treat Atreff links as shareable rather than private. Organisers decide where to share their links. Don't use Atreff to publish confidential or sensitive information.
5. Organisers
If you create or manage a group or event, you are its organiser. You are responsible for your groups and events, including:
- giving accurate, up-to-date event information;
- making sure you are entitled to organise the event, and that it complies with the law and any venue rules, with any permissions, licences or insurance it needs;
- deciding whether the activity is suitable and safe, and whether the event goes ahead, whatever its sign-up numbers;
- telling participants about changes and cancellations;
- letting people know directly when you remove them from an event, or when someone you added by name is moved up from the waitlist; and
- handling any payments or other arrangements outside Atreff.
Adding people by name. You can add someone to an event by typing their name, for example if they don't use Atreff. Only add people who are 18 or over, who are happy to be listed, and whose name you have a proper reason to share with the group. Keep the details you enter accurate.
If you mark participants as paid, that is your own note, and you are responsible for keeping it accurate.
Don't suggest that an event is organised, sponsored, approved, insured or supervised by Atreff unless we have agreed to this in writing.
6. Participants
When you join or waitlist for an event, you decide whether the event is right for you. Check the organiser's information, such as the activity, time, place, cost, any requirements and the cancellation arrangements. Ask the organiser if anything is unclear. Joining an event through Atreff shows that you intend to take part.
7. Joining and leaving events
You can join an event, or its waitlist if the event is full.
Leaving. If you are going, you can leave the event yourself until its cancellation deadline, if the organiser has set one, or otherwise until the event starts. If you are on the waitlist, you can leave the waitlist at any time before the event starts. If you were moved up from the waitlist after the cancellation deadline, you can still leave the event yourself until it starts (see section 8). Otherwise, after the deadline, contact the organiser if you can no longer attend. Nobody can leave through Atreff once the event has started.
The sign-up list shows who currently intends to come. It is a planning tool, not a record of who actually attends.
8. Participant limits and waitlists
An organiser can set a maximum number of participants. When the maximum is reached, people who join go onto a waitlist in the order they joined.
Moving up from the waitlist. When a place becomes available, for example because someone leaves or the organiser removes someone, the first person on the waitlist is moved up automatically. Once you are moved up, you are going. If you can't make it, please leave the event so the next person on the waitlist can have your place. You can do this even if you were moved up after the cancellation deadline.
We will try to tell you by email when you are moved up, unless you have chosen Don't send updates (see section 13). Emails can be delayed or filtered, so check your status in Atreff while you are on a waitlist. A place on a waitlist does not guarantee a place at the event.
Organisers can also add people directly to an event, including above the maximum.
9. Minimum numbers
An organiser can set a minimum number of participants. Atreff then shows how many more people are needed, or that the minimum has been reached, based on current sign-ups. This is not a promise that the event will go ahead. Atreff doesn't cancel an event because its minimum hasn't been reached; the organiser decides whether it goes ahead. Atreff cancels events itself in one case only: when a group's only organiser deletes their account, the group is closed and its upcoming events are cancelled.
10. Cancellation deadlines
An organiser can set a cancellation deadline for an event. After the deadline, people who are going can't remove themselves through Atreff and need to contact the organiser. The exception is people moved up from the waitlist after the deadline (see section 8).
The deadline is the organiser's arrangement. Any charge or other consequence of cancelling late is a matter between the organiser and the participant, and Atreff does not enforce it.
11. Changed and cancelled events
Organisers can change or cancel their events. Atreff shows the updated details, or marks the event as cancelled and shows a notice in Atreff to the people signed up. Atreff does not send emails when an event is changed or cancelled. The organiser is responsible for telling participants.
12. Costs and payments
Organisers can show the cost of an event. Atreff does not collect or process payments for events. Any cost shown is information from the organiser. A "paid" mark is the organiser's own note, not confirmation from Atreff that a payment was made. Payments, refunds, deposits and cancellation charges are arranged between the organiser and the participant, outside Atreff.
Atreff is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you the price and terms before they apply to you, and you won't be charged for anything you haven't agreed to.
13. Messages from Atreff
We send messages by email. They include:
- sign-in codes, when you ask to sign in;
- a message when you are moved up from a waitlist;
- for organisers, updates about their events, such as when someone leaves, and an attendance update before an event if they ask for one; and
- where needed, essential messages about your account, its security or these Terms.
We don't send marketing messages.
You can stop event emails by choosing Don't send updates in My events. Sign-in codes and essential messages are still sent, and notices inside Atreff still appear. We can't guarantee that every email arrives, because email providers may delay or filter messages.
14. Your content
"User Content" means information you add to Atreff, such as names, group descriptions, event details, locations and notes.
You keep ownership of your User Content, and you are responsible for it. Only add content you have the right to share. Don't add anything that is unlawful, misleading, threatening, abusive or discriminatory, that infringes someone else's rights, that contains malicious code, or that discloses information you have no permission to share.
You give Atreff a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and otherwise process your User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, improve and develop the Service and provide its features. This licence does not give Atreff ownership of your personal information, which is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We will not list a group or event publicly, for example in search results or a directory, or use its name or content to promote Atreff, unless the organiser agrees. An organiser's agreement doesn't cover other people's personal data, which we use only as described in our Privacy Policy.
The licence ends when the content is deleted from the Service, except where we keep it for the reasons and periods set out in our Privacy Policy.
We may remove content that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law.
15. Statistics about use of the Service
Atreff may create aggregated statistics about how the Service is used, for example numbers of events, sign-ups and waitlists by activity, area and time. We may use these statistics to operate, improve, develop and promote the Service, and in our work with venues and other organisations. We will only do so where they don't identify any individual user, and don't identify a particular group without the organiser's agreement.
16. Acceptable use
Don't:
- use Atreff for anything unlawful or fraudulent;
- impersonate anyone, or sign up under a false name;
- try to access another person's account, or request sign-in codes for an email address you aren't entitled to use;
- add people who are under 18, or who haven't agreed to be listed;
- interfere with Atreff's security or operation, introduce harmful code, or try to get around our security measures;
- scrape or systematically extract information from Atreff, or use automated tools in a way that places unreasonable demands on it;
- use information from Atreff to spam, harass or profile other people; or
- create false or misleading events.
We may investigate suspected misuse and restrict access where appropriate (see section 20).
17. Information about other users
Organisers, and anyone signed in who opens a group or event link, can see who has joined or waitlisted for an event. Use information about other people only for the group or event it relates to. Don't use it for unrelated marketing, spam, harassment or profiling, and don't pass it to anyone else for those purposes.
How Atreff itself handles personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
18. Other services and places
Events may take place at venues or involve businesses that are independent of Atreff. Mentioning a venue or business doesn't mean Atreff endorses or controls it, and your dealings with them are between you and them. Other services you use with Atreff have their own terms. Examples are WhatsApp, when you share an event link, and the calendar app you save an event to.
19. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design and branding, belongs to Klarsted FZC LLC or its licensors. Except as the law allows, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or commercially exploit the Service, or any substantial part of it, without our permission.
20. Availability, changes and suspension
We aim to keep Atreff available and working, but it may sometimes be unavailable. Causes include maintenance, technical problems, problems with services we rely on, and security incidents. Don't rely on Atreff as the only way to share urgent or safety-critical information about an event.
Atreff is developing, and we may improve and update its features. We may change or remove a feature where this develops or updates the Service, or for a reason beyond our control. We will tell you before such a change applies. Changes to these Terms follow section 24.
You can stop using Atreff at any time. You can delete your account from Delete my account in the app, or by emailing us. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information.
We may suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary, for example if these Terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, if we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse, to prevent a security or legal risk, or where the law requires it. Where appropriate, we will tell you first and explain why.
21. Responsibility for events
Atreff provides a tool for managing sign-ups. Because Atreff does not organise or run events:
- the organiser, together with any venue or other provider involved, is responsible for how an event is organised and run, including its safety;
- each participant is responsible for deciding whether to take part, and for their own conduct; and
- disagreements about an event, a payment or a late cancellation are between the organiser and the participant, unless the problem was caused by Atreff, for example by an error in the Service.
Atreff is responsible for providing the Service in line with these Terms and the law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Atreff's liability for harm that Atreff causes, or reduces any right you have to compensation.
22. Misuse
If you deliberately or unlawfully misuse Atreff and this causes loss to Atreff, or leads to a claim against Atreff, you may be responsible for that loss under the law.
23. Privacy
How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. You confirm that you have read it when you create an account.
24. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when the Service changes, when the law changes, or for security or operational reasons. Each version shows the date it takes effect.
- Material changes, meaning changes that affect your rights or obligations, apply to you only once you accept them. We will show you the updated Terms and ask you to accept them before you continue using your account. If you don't want to accept them, you can stop using Atreff and delete your account.
- Other changes are limited to clarifications and corrections that don't change your rights or obligations, and changes the law requires. We will publish them on Atreff before they take effect, and they apply from the effective date shown.
Changes do not apply to anything that happened before they took effect.
25. Complaints, governing law and disputes
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at the address in section 27, so we can try to resolve it. This doesn't affect your right to go to court or to complain to a consumer protection authority.
These Terms, and any dispute arising from or relating to them, are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and, where applicable, the laws of the Emirate of Sharjah. The courts of the Emirate of Sharjah have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not affect your right to bring proceedings before any other court that has jurisdiction, or to complain to the UAE consumer protection authorities.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the UAE Consumer Protection Law (Federal Law No. 15 of 2020) or other mandatory law. If you live outside the UAE, this includes the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
26. General
- If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- If we don't enforce a part of these Terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation, sale or similar transaction, provided this does not reduce your rights.
- These Terms, together with any additional terms we expressly say apply to a particular feature, form the agreement between you and Atreff about the Service.
